Surf pioneers

Founded in 1966 (though there was a beach bar on this spot even earlier), Sandy Hill&rsquo:s story has always been intricately intertwined with the local surf scene. In fact, when its founder brought back a surfboard from a Californian vacation, he became Zandvoort&rsquo:s first surfer! Today, (kite-) surfers can still use the club&rsquo:s lockers to store their equipment before settling on the daybeds on the deck for food and some drinks.
