Description
The Vondelpark is a public urban park with forty-seven hectares (120 acres) in the European nation|national capital Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It's a part of the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid and settled west from the Leidseplein and close bay the Museumplein.
The park was opened in 1865 and was initially named the "Nieuwe Park". However later renamed "Vondelpark" in the 17th-century after dramatist and writer Joost van den Vondel.
Yearly, the park has around ten million guests. Within the park are a theatre, a playground and several other horeca facilities.
