The Melkweg

The Melkweg stands for pop culture in the broadest sense of the word. Hundreds of concerts, club nights, (music) films, theatre performances, exhibitions and multidisciplinary events attract almost 540,000 visitors annually.

The Melkweg is located in the only remaining factory building on Amsterdam's ring of canals: a former sugar and, later, milk factory. In the historic building you will find two concert halls, a film hall, a multidisciplinary hall and an exhibition space, which can be used independently or in combination.

In the Melkweg, established names stand alongside new talent and emerging trends are given a chance to reach a broad audience. The diversity in programming and audiences, combined with the different spaces and the particular location, have made the Melkweg a unique place for years.
