Hidden behind Hermitage Amsterdam is Dignita Hoftuin, a quaint garden café and social initiative that serves local, organic food while supporting the community.

Social and organic concept

A social initiative of the Protestant Diaconie of Amsterdam, Hoftuin seeks to not only serve high-quality food for breakfast and lunch, but support the community and environment in Amsterdam. The café:, nestled in a hidden city garden behind Hermitage Amsterdam, employs the socially disadvantaged and uses only organic, locally-grown products&mdash:including those from its own vegetable garden, which is open to the public to visit.

Take a seat outside on the intimate terrace or inside with a view through the all-glass walls to enjoy sandwiches, soups and salads during opening hours, or rent out the space after close for a private event.
